Facebook has decided to monetize its ‘Messenger’ platform through big size ads and they will be below current conversation. In Australia and Thailand, the businesses will be allowed by this messaging app by advertising on the home screen. An image will be followed by a text and then by a link in this advertisement.

Several actions can be taken to organize the link including making an account, knowing about the advertised products etc.

Currently, only sponsored messages will be sent by businesses in case there is a conversation between them and the user. Therefore, you will get messages from those businesses that interact with them. If you don’t like, you can stop receiving sponsored messages from them.

But it is made clear by Facebook that important matters will remain priority and conversations will not be affected by ads. But you can see them several times in a day as they will be placed directly under your conversations.

The company told that more than 1 billion messages between customers and businesses have been sent already. The messages are not sent directly by businesses to customers but the conversation has to be started by the user in order to receive ads.

You will soon see them in the next versions of the app as these testing features are currently present in the beta version.

Some time ago, Messenger was separated from the main app and now Facebook is trying to make it an individual strong platform as it has around billion users.
