Apple Is Working On Crack Resistant Display For Foldable Devices

Apple is currently thinking to work on a crack-resistant display that may be long lasting and better than the current technology used in the foldable phones. The patents were uncovered by Patently Apple. Previously Apple has been introducing various patent applications for its foldable mobiles. The new technology is not much different than old ones.

The new patent is finished with US Patent and Trademark Office that indicates the way of hard coat layers usage for crack prevention in a curved, flexible or foldable display. Usually a glass fracture occurs due to presence of micro-cracks and this hard coat layer will avoid a prominent crack on display by filling already existing micro-cracks.

There will be an extra layer on top of the display with sufficient stiffness and tensile strength to act as an additional protective layer and increase overall stability against punctures and scratches.

If it ever runs out on a retail product, it could give Samsung and other current-generation foldable phones a chance to make money. However, even if Apple intends to implement it on a final product, we will bring it up shortly before we see it on the shelves.
