The Nation reported that Easypaisa officially launched the ATM cards for its mobile account holders.

Paper said that Easypaisa has now commercially launched the cards for its mobile account holders, after the soft launch of Easypaisa ATM cards earlier this year.

From Telenor Service Centers or Tameer Bank branches, Easypaisa mobile Account holders can get their ATM cards.

The transaction charges are Rs. 25 per transaction while Card issuance charges are set at Rs. 200 per ATM card.

Easypaisa mobile account holders will no longer be required to visit Easypaisa outlets with ATM cards, instead through any 1-link ATM machines across Pakistan, they’ll be able to withdraw the cash.

Head of Strategy of Easypaisa, Telenor Pakistan, Omer Moeen says that of the very few countries in the world, Pakistan is now one where in under two minutes, a person with a CNIC can open a free bank account, pick up an ATM card and easily link it to his account.
In their person-to-person transactions which do not require permanent mobile accounts, mobile financial service providers are seeing strong growth.

On the other hand, number of mobile account holders in the country is not very impressive. However to masses to ultimately have mobile accounts, services like ATM cards may give required incentive. The usage can be further boosted by more services like netbanking and mobile apps to manage mobile account.
