Most of the people don’t think that software can deplete their battery but in fact it is one of the most neglected real causes of battery drainage especially if you have Facebook installed on your phone.

This issue was highlighted by Tech World Zone when it conducted tests using Metal and a Nexus 6P. After several tests, it was proved that un-installation of Facebook app increases the battery life of phone up to 20%. Later, several users of “Reddit” also told they found these tests mostly true.

Facebook interferes with RAM and thus uses lots of battery. Usually, it is normal for an app to run in the background but Facebook uses the battery even if it is not connected with wifi or mobile data. If apps performs so, they prove rather harmful. The reason for Facebbok to run in the background is provide better startup time and notifications.

It seems the app performs well on iOS as compared to Android while it as a bit uneven relations with the company. Last year, Facebook itself admitted the problem which ended this issue. Then the company updated the app and claiming for changes but the issue remained unsolved for most of the users.

After that, it released a statement telling that it is testing various experiments to solve the issue. It is said in the statement that few people with Android smartphones are facing problems. They are focusing on investigation and will update it as soon as possible.

Many users were happy to keep this app active after this announcement but heavy users would really like to save 20% of their battery. Now “Metal” is also there to provide you a good alternative.
