Until now, Haier wasn’t famous for any types of wearable smartphones or gadgets. But now the company has introduced its first Android smartwatch as it is taking seriously about the gadget market.

At the Mobile World Congress, the company revealed the Haier Watch which looks much similar to the Moto 360 as it has a metal body. It is not only the shiniest device at the market currently but also its price is far less than its competitors.

This Haier’s device looks quite similar to the Huawei Watch. It has 400 x 400 resolutions as it comes with a completely round 1.4” display. There is a slim 316L stainless steel display around the display while 42 mm diameter is the size of casing. The display looks quite nice to the eyes. It is available with several interchangeable bands while the watch is available in the colors of black, gold and silver. The bottom is free of any black bar.

On the performance side, the Watch has 8 GB of storage and 1 GB RAM which is double to the current normal 4 GB of storage and 512 MB RAM. Android Marshmallow is available in the device and the reason for a bit higher storage and RAM is the use of custom ROM by Haier instead of Android wear. We are not sure that after start of sale, Haier will replace the ROM with Android wear or not.

Haier Watches

Haier Watch will come with its own set of fitness apps while it will also support the Play Store app. There is also a feature in the watch that will be able to identify various types of fitness activities. There are also GPS, Heart Rate sensor, speaker and microphone in the watch. Through these features, making and receiving calls from watch can be done easily. There is also a bundled lock and magnetic connectors in the watch. Bluetooth is the only source through which the smartphone can be connected to the smartwatch. The other connectivity options like LTE, Wi Fi or NFC are not available. It has an IP56 certificate as it is water and dust resistant. In its software, you will also get the feature of “find my phone”.

In the end $200 is the price of the watch and it has also been confirmed by the company. After April, the sale of the watch will start while Q2 2016 is the time of its global release. Apart from this watch, Haier will also soon release a watch for safety of kids which will have the features of fitness and multimedia.
