Huawei has worked really hard to get the third largest smartphone maker of the world while now there are expectations that it can get the second spot. To achieve this, the biggest target for the company is to make a place in the category of high end devices.

Now it seems that the company is on the right path to achieve this target. According to latest reports, more than 10 million flagship devices of the company, P9 and P9 Plus, have been sold worldwide which is the first time that the company achieved this target. Richard Yu, Huawei’s CEO of Consumer Business Group, told this.

Yu said that the Huawei P9/P9 Plus were first dual-lens flagship devices by the company with collaboration from German camera brand Leica in April 2016. The consumers got superb camera technology in smartphone through this partnership that was an important reason for this high sale.

As compared to same period last year, Huawei recorded 23% increase in shipment of smartphones with 33.59 million numbers. Out of these phones, around 44% were either mid range or high end devices which is an achievement for a company initially known for low end phones.

For this year, the target of shipping 140 million smartphones has been achieved by Huawei. Before revealing next flagship phones, the company is expecting to sell around 12 million devices and now it seems very much possible. According to the taste of the market, the company will soon release lower version of EMUI theme next year.

No doubt, Huawei is going towards the right path but it has to do lot of hard work to catch the giants as Apple has sold 13 million smartphones within first week of its release while Samsung sold 10 million phones within a month.
