In a district and session court in Lahore, a petition has been filed by a woman against a person who was allegedly using her name to operate a Facebook account.

She reported that she is facing serious problems due to the fake Facebook ID operated by some person. Shagufta Rani is the name of that woman who filed this petition as her relations deteriorated with her husband after he knew about her fake ID. After this discovery, her husband threw her out of his home and now even considering about ending relations with her.

FIR Registered Against Identity Theft

The FIR has been registered against Raja Khalil, the alleged ID thief. According to the accuser, she had been using Facebook for long while Khalil had downloaded her personal pictures from her page and then created a fake ID by using these pictures.

She also told that the accused also sent friend requests to many people from this account and he even sent such request to her brother.

This case of taking original profile pictures and uses them to create fake Facebook acoount has created several problems for Rani as she is facing humiliation and her matrimonial life is also in danger. Relief was also not provided by the concerned authorities.

The court has ordered the director of FIA to comment on this issue.
