LG Confirms Its Plans To Outsource Its Low-End And Mid-Range Smartphones

LG is currently working to restructure its business plans, the company decided to outsource its low-end and mid-range smartphones. LG phones will be assembled and manufactured by third party companies in future. But the phones manufactured by third party companies will be sold under the LG’s name.

LG is planning to free up more R&D for its high end devices by outsourcing the low and mid range phones. The company recently unveiled LG Wing as part of its experimental devices project. The phone comes with dual screen setup, one with landscape orientation and the other display behind it.

LG has been in deficit for more than 5 years. Therefore, spending cuts and business restructuring are not surprising. The company plans to compete with well-known brands including Huawei, Samsung, Apple, Xiaomi, Oppo, etc by reconstruction of its business.
