Meizu 18 Series Officially Launched In China

The emerging Chinese smartphone maker, Miezu has officially unveiled the Miezu 18 series in China. The company brought two variants in the lineup including Miezu 18 and Miezu 18 Pro with high end specification but at an affordable price tag.

Design and Display

The top end variant Miezu 18 Pro has a 6.7 inch big AMOLED display sizes having 120Hz refresh rate and 1440p (2k) screen resolution. The phone is featured by ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. The Miezu’s four sides are curved. The rear side has a quad camera module accompanied by an LED Flash.

On the other side, the the base variant Miezu 18 has comparatively smaller display size of 6.2 inch display. Other specifications of the lower variant are same as of high end variant of the series.

Internals and Storage

Internally, both phones are identical. The Meizu 18 series is topped by the flagship SoC Snapdragon 888 5nm accompanied by 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB UFS 3.1. The low memory variants are also available but no card slot for expanding memory is provided. On the software side, the Miezu 18 series goes with Android 11 with Meizu’s Flyme OS 9.

Camera

When we move towards the camera specifications of the Meizu 18 and Meizu 18 Pro, both phones have different camera specifications. The top end variant is equipped by quad camera setup on the rear side having 50MP main camera, an 8MP telephoto, a 32MP ultrawide, and a TOF sensor. On the other hand, the standard Meizu 18 is topped by a main camera of 64MP but it has only 3 lenses. The other two cameras include a 16MP ultrawide and an 8MP telephoto zoom lens.

Battery and Pricing

In terms of battery both phones are different. The Meizu 18 Pro is powered by a bigger 4,500 mAh cell paired with 40W fast charging, 40W wireless charging, and reverse wireless charging. The base model has a smaller 4,000 mAh battery with support for 36W wired fast charging only.

Both will be available in Blue, White, and Gray color options.The standard Meizu 18 will come at a starting price of $680 and the 18 Pro will cost $773 for the base memory configuration.
