The Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication, Islamabad recently organized a meeting in the secretariat of the ministry office in Islamabad on Thursday. The meeting was presided by federal minister of IT, Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddique.
In the meeting it was decided to take a big initiative to empower the Pakistani women by using the latest technology and for this purpose “Baytee” program is launched for the Smart Phones also.
According to the briefing of senior officials of the Ministry of IT, a mobile application will be developed under the program which will act as centralized information hub for important services for women.
Using the “Baytee” Mobile application, women will be able to:
- Find advocacy programs on women rights
- Receive news about laws and regulations regarding women rights
- Inquire about schools and scholarships for women
- Find nearby job and training opportunities
- Seek health services in their area
- Get information about the nearest woman police station and hostels
By using “Baytee” application, women will also be provided with all women empowerment projects under all public and private sector. Moreover a dedicated helpline will also be available for women under the “Baytee” project.
