Through introduction of Motion Still on iOS, the Live Photos on iPhoen can easily be converted in to shareable GIFs. But there was no concept of Live Photos in Android and the Android version of the app was just used to export GIFs.

But now Apple is providing option of editing Live Photos through its own built-in tools that will minimize the importance of any 3rd party app like ‘Motion Still’ which makes it necessary for Google to introduce this technology on its own tool now.

Now, there are few new features in the Android version of the app. Google tells that it include trimming algorithms that protects against accidental camera shakes and pocket shots and it is done without internet connection. Through this Motion Still on Android, every captured thing is converted in to shareable short clips.

The pipeline of this Android app has been redesigned by Google which processes each frame of the video soon after it is recorded. Through this method, the users will not have to wait while capture their GIF.

Another important feature is ‘Fast Forward’ which converts a longer recording into shareable clip by reducing its size. The Fast Forward can process up to a minute of video on the phone with help from the ‘Pipeline’. After completion of recording, the speed of playback can be adjusted from 1 to 8 times.
