Motorola Officially Announces Launch Date For Moto Edge S

The Lenovo owned Motorola is going to launch its new flagship smartphone Motorola Edge S. the smartphone has been in rumors and leaks for months. Initially, the phone was expected to be powered by Snapdragon 888 or 865 chipset, however, the company was planning to built phone with Snapdragon 870 SoC that was being manufactured then. Right after few hours of the launch of the chipset, the company officially announced to launch Moto Edge S with new chipset on January 26, 2021.

The Snapdragon 870 chipset has faster clock speed. It is powered by a Kryo 585 (a reworked Cortex-A77) running at up to 3.2GHz. The Mobile platform is built on TSMC’s 7nm process and has 8 cores – the reworked Cortex A77, three Cortex-A77 running at a slower speed, and 4 Cortex-A55 for efficiency.

As far as the specifications of the upcoming Motorola Edge S are concerned, it will have a 6.7 inch FHD+ display with a rather odd 105 Hz refresh rate and a 64 MP camera setup on the back. The overall specifications are expected to come as same as in previously launched Motorola Edge+
