A new point in the Microsoft’s war against Chromebook arrived with the coming of HP’s new and cheaper laptops and tablets which are cheaper than ever before. Windows 8.1 Pro is present in these new machines include a tablet of $99 and laptop of $199. The package is made more brilliant with the addition of few attractions.
There will be an 11” display without touchscreen and a 13” display ($229) with one present in two options of HP Stream. Probably, both will have resolutions of 1366×768. It will run on an unidentified processor of Intel Celeron under the hood along with flash storage of 32GB worth eMMC. It is worth to note that the new Windows updates have reduced the requirements of hardware.
Present also are various connectivity options. A free $25 Windows gift card for apps, 60 minutes Skype calls, free one year access to Office 365 Personal and 1 TB OneDrive storage are the extra goodies of these systems. Magenta and blue colors show that the Stream Laptops are especially for younger age group.
Extra cheaper is the Stream 7 tablet with price of just $99. This price will be hard to beat in case it works alright. $149 is the price of another version with 8”. There is Office 365 and Intel Processor but without any further details about specifications.
A new Stream 14 laptop will also be released by HP this month with specs of AMD’s A4 microprocessor, 32GB eMMC storage, 2GB RAM and a 14” HD display. It has its own attractions and it will cost $299 while it is coming with several dark colors.
You can get these systems in the end of this year. If it performs well in the real-life then it will prove to be the most serious attack on Chromebooks so far.
