Nokia Experiment of 1TB Per Second Data Transfer

Nokia Labs, Donche Telecom and experts of Technical University Munich have practically proved the data transfer of 1 terabit per second through fiber optical cable.

Experiments like these have been conducted earlier but they could only be proved successful on shorter distance while data transfer quality deteriorated badly on increasing distance. It is the first time that data is transferred in such speed in a situation in close to real life for a long distance. For this purpose, modern technology of “Pro-ballistic constellation Shaping” is used and the data is transported to 30% more distance without any harm.

Despite this success, we have to wait to quite long for this technology because data has to be transferred in far more distance with the same speed in order to make it a part of commercial fiber optical network.

Apart from that, world telecommunication industry wants to take advantage from 5G and other such technologies due to which we can expect that this fiber optical network of 1tb per second speed will come in to reality in next 10 to 20 years.

It should be cleared that the maximum limit of data transfer through fiber optical is 1tb which has been achieved by experts in this experiment.
