Nokia Successfully Achieved 1 Tbps Internet Speed on Fiber Optic

Nokia and other IT companies have done the successful tests on the internet speed and now the internet speed of 1Tbps is possible with in the country. They have done some innovative techniques to show the fast speeds in their labs. The viewers will get the detail of the new technology, which is allowed in Nokia Bell Labs, Technical University of Munich, Deutsch Telekom to test these faster speeds.

Reaching the Terabits Per Second Mark

The speed of the internet around terabits per second has been achieved in lab and this speed is also possible over long distances. The FASTER cable connects Japan and USA with each other and it manages the 60 terabits per second. Manage to get terabits per second with the short distance was possible in the real world. During the field trial, Nokia Bell Labs, Technical University of Munich and Deutsch Telekom reached to the terabits per second level and the field trial is involved in the real conditions with different levels of traffic and it is added with the channel conditions.

How They Managed It

There was new modulation technique behind this achievement. There is modem (modulator-demodulator) for fiber optic connections and the constellation points in the network can use this technique to modulate the signals for transmission. The new technique is added with Probabilistic Constellation Shaping uses the constellation points with the lower amplitude and has the less noise. It helps to transmit the signals 30% further than before. It allowed the team behind this project to get close to the theoretical speed limits of transmission for fiber optic connections. Now we get the 2-4 mbps at homes and with the terabits per second, you can get the speed with home connection with a billion times faster.

Possible 5G Integration

This technology is not applied in the real world and you will not get the much speed of this connection at much speed any time soon. There is big difference between the field testing and it is commercially provided for the use. This can be done with the proposed 5 G launch by 2020 and the speeds of the internet will be in gigabits.
