Yesterday, it was hinted that in the next couple of weeks, Youtube might be opened in Pakistan by the Chairman of PTA, Farooq Ahmed Awan. While speaking to a private news channel, he said this.

On September 17th 2012, the Youtube was banned in Pakistan, after the upload of anti-Islam film on Youtube, which across the whole Muslim world sparks the protest.

For the removal of blasphemous videos for viewing in Pakistan, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority is in touch with the controlling company of Youtube, the Google, as said by Mr. Awan. So far, however no positive response from the company has been received.

The Google turned down the earlier request of the Government for the removal of blasphemous videos for viewing in Pakistan.

In various countries, the access of blasphemous videos has been blocked by Youtube, which should be recalled. These countries include India, Indonesia, Egypt, Tunisia, Singapore and many other countries of the world.

After the removal of blasphemous videos, Youtube will be unblocked in Pakistan, as stated earlier by Rehman Malik.
