Overseas Pakistanis Now Register Complaints Via Skype

It has been reported that the necessary decision has been made by the Federal Ombudsman, M. Salman Farooqui to employ the Skype so that their secretariat can listen the complaints of the Pakistani people, who are living in different countries. They will listen to the complaints on the fortnightly basis.

New System for Hearing Complaints

The decision for the use of Skype to listen to the complaints of the expatriate Pakistanis have been made during a meeting, which was chaired by the Senior Advisor and the Grievance Commissioner for Overseas Pakistani, Hafiz Ahsaan Ahmed Khokhar.

It is decided that he will hear the complaints of the expatriate Pakistanis about individual and the systematic problems of their community and the complaints, which concerned with federal agencies, ministries, departments and organizations. In the meeting, the representatives of the concerned ministries, Bureau of Emigration and Overseas Employment and Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF) were present.

After the meeting, the necessary directives have been issued by the Senior Adviser to the OPF and the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis to provide the facilities of Skype at Federal Ombudsman Secretariat to hear the complaints of the overseas Pakistanis. Now with the provision of this facility, the Skype will be used for the countries, where the community welfare attaches will be sent in order to solve the problems of the overseas Pakistanis.

Voting Rights for Overseas Pakistanis

The government is taking the necessary actions for the provision of the right of vote to the overseas Pakistanis and the necessary initiatives have been started.

Under this decision, the necessary instructions have been issued to NADRA for the verification and registration of the overseas Pakistanis, who want to participate in the general elections. NADRA has opined that they have the capability to register about 140,000 people in one year and this number of the registration of the overseas Pakistanis can be increased if necessary resources are provided to them along with the enough manpower to employ in the department. The use of Skype to contact with the overseas Pakistanis and resolve their issues is cost and time effective measure and it will help to improve the process. Now they will have to keep the lines open for the overseas population to resolve their issues. It is also hoped to take this initiative to help the expatriate Pakistanis all over the world and save the unnecessary hassles, money and time to resolve the common issues which they face.
