PKNIC hacking, now more secured

This Saturday, Pakistan’s internet registry that manages the top level domains for Pakistan, the PKNIC has admitted that it was hacked.

The root cause for redirection of some 284 domains to hacker’s web server was the security breach in one of its system, as said by PKNIC, and these domains include google.com.pk, apple.pk, ebay.pk, and some others.

On Saturday morning, vulnerability in one of its systems caused a total of four user accounts to be breached, with the impact of a total of nine DNS records (Pakistan Time), as said in a statement by PKNIC, while giving more details on the breach.

Over the weekend, the PKNIC team embarked on a comprehensive review of the whole website, and very successfully, the said vulnerability was resolved, as claimed further in the statement by PKNIC.

Credit cards or similar financial information in its database, is does not stored which was clarified by PKNIC.
