Potential Backdoor Left Over 3 Million Android Devices at Risk

It has been revealed for the second time within a week that the mobile phones coming from China are added with potential backdoor in the pre-installed rootkit. The BitSight Technologies has discovered over 2.8 million smart phones, which are vulnerable to man-in-the-middle attacks.

This company is associated with Chinese Regentek Group and it was linked with two unencrypted connections. It is not added with code-signing procedure and anyone has potential to insert the malicious code via over the air update.

BitSight made an effort to register about 3 million smart phones and these handsets have been communicated in this brief period. With the use of BLU Studio G smartphone, the company has installed the tracking file in it so that they know about the issue. The sensitive and private information including government, healthcare, and the details of the bank transactions, are sent to and from with the use of such devices. If the domain has made its way to the malicious user then the situation can be catastrophic. The affected devices are said prepared from the two companies of China and US in which BLU is also included and the companies like Infinix, Xolo, Doogee and Leagoo, which make up for over 50 percent of all 55 unique models.

The company, Kryptowire warned of the phones when they send the user data anonymously to Chinese servers in which some highly private information is also included. They are added with volume of level of testing, which is employed by the companies and BLU announced an update to fix the loopholes to make it clear and how it is done.
