QMobile is known for providing lower end feature and smartphones in the country but the situation is now changing as the company is slowly entering the business of high end smartphones also. But the company to perform very well in order to compete against other famous companies and currently the company only wants to take its chances in the range of midrange mobiles.
The latest flagship of the company is “QMobile A1”. The device is relatively more premium built while several specifications also look amazing on paper. Here below, we are presenting a review of this latest offering by QMobile.

QMobile A1 is having a contemporary famous metallic build which makes it feel heavy. There is 5.5” screen, fingerprint scanner along with Recent and Back keys at the front. An earpiece, sensors, a soft LED flash and front camera are present on the top of the display. But a LED notification light is absent which should be included in this price range.
You will get a LED flash, main camera, QMobile branding and IR blaster on the back. At the top of the phone, there is a 3.5mm headphone jack while a microphone, USB charging port and loudspeaker are at the bottom.

The A1 has 5.5” display with 1920 x 1080 screen and 401 PPI pixel display. It has bright and sharp colors which makes it easier to view the screen in direct sunlight. This feature uis commonly found in IPS LCD display.

The QMobile A1 has 2 GHz MediaTek Helio P10 octa core CPU with 4 GB of RAM. It’s impressive and performs day to day tasks well. There is no problem with the phone in normal circumstances but it gets very hot while playing heavy games. But even by getting hot, the gaming performance remains good.

QMobile A1 is presenting both rear and front cameras. There is a 13 MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture on the back which makes a decent picture. There are sharp colors but fine details are missed when zoom a picture. There is a feature of phase detection autofocus in the rear camera which focuses on the subject very quickly. But the picture quality starts deteriorating with low light. You can get several camera modes including text recognition, GIFs, slow motion, professional and others.

There is a larger 16 MP selfie camera at the front that also comes with f/2.0 aperture that performs well in low light. A LED flashlight is also present at front. But you can have same issue with this camera also that the quality degrades with lower light conditions.

The fingerprint scanner is located under the home button on front. Not only setting it up is easier but it is also very fast. According to QMobile, it will recognize your fingerprint in 0.2 seconds and it is really very fast.

Software
QMobile has custom skin on top of Android 7 in A1 like in many other budget phones which can affct performance of the phone. But the performance is stable due to 4 GB RAM of QMobile A1 as you can easily open 7 to 10 applications at a time without worrying about them at all. Another important software feature is the Edge Bar that will show you list of configured apps by swiping on the right or left of home button.
QMobile has bad reputation regard to software updates as they don’t update any of their devices but we are hopeful that the company might support this device with timely updates as it is a relatively better phone.
Battery
There is a huge 4010 mAh battery in the QMobile A1 and one can expect better performance from this large battery. But with 50% brightness on the phone, it will run for around 7.5 hours which is not a very good performance with such a huge battery. The company tried to compensate it by providing fast charging facility that helps you to get few hours of battery life with just few minutes of charging.
Connectivity and Pricing
You can have 2 SIMs and microSD card support in QMobile A1 but the microSD card can be placed in place of 2nd SIM which restricts you to use just 1 feature (2 SIMs or microSD card) at a time. The cost of QMobile A1 is Rs. 27,500.
