Qualcomm Is Set To Take On Apple By Launching Of M1 Competitor For Laptops

The American chipmaker Qualcomm is set to compete with Apple on its M1 chipset and plans to manufacture its competitor. The Qualcomm admitted that Apple’s new chipset in best in terms of performance and has an excellent design. However, the Qualcomm has not yet confirmed about its new chipset.

According to reports the Qualcomm is going to manufacture new chip with the internal name dubbed Snapdragon SC8280 that will take on Apple’s M1. It will have Snapdragon 8cx Gen 2 and is being topped in 14-inch notebooks. It has two different variants, one with support for 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and the other with 32GB of LPDDR4X. This gives it an edge over Apple’s chip as the M1 is limited to 16GB at the moment.

The new chip is reportedly measures 20 x 17 millimeters in size, which is the same as the 8cx Gen 2. Laptops with Snapdragon chips are also expected to come with a support of cellular connectivity.
