The successor of the Galaxy Camera, the Galaxy Camera 2 has just been unveiled by Samsung. The upgrade includes NFC connectivity, newer Android version, double RAM and storage, faster processor and new design.
With a 1/2.3” BSI sensor along 16.3 MP effective resolutions, the Galaxy Camera 2 comes. There is also 21x optical zoom lens with optical image stabilization in there. The shared features are a dedicated AF light, sensor and a pop-up xenon flash.
You can shoot 1080p@30fps, 512p@120fps and 720p@60fps, as the other unchanged feature is video recording capabilities. Doubled 8GB internal storage (expandable up to 64GB capacity via microSD card), a faster quad-core processor clocked at 1.6GHz and doubled 2GB Ram are the upgraded features of Galaxy Camera 2.
Galaxy Camera 2 also brought few more upgrades including the newer Android 4.3 Jelly Bean version, NFC connectivity and the bigger 2000mAh battery. Though not confirmed but we guess Galaxy Camera 2 will support the Galaxy Gear smartwatch as it runs on the latest TouchWiz and Android 4.3.
With 360ppi, the Galaxy Camera also employs 4.8” Super Clear 720p LCD display like the Galaxy Camera.
The new one doesn’t come with a SIM slot so there is no 3G/LTE support, which is unlike the first Galaxy Camera.
