From the leaked internal product positioning documents, it has been confirmed that the rumored ‘lite’ version of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is set to see life as the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo.

As it features the Galaxy Note 2’s 5.55” 720p Super AMOLED display, 3100mAh battery and 8MP camera, so the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo looks more of a refresh to the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 instead of a dumbed-down version of the Note 3. At 2GB and 16GB respectively, even the RAM and internal storage are at the same.

Powering the Galaxy Note 3 Neo with the new 1.7GHz dual + 1.3GHz quad-core (Hexa) processor is the interesting thing to note. We couldn’t get more details beyond a mere mention of the clock speed and name of the cores of two sets. Though comparison from the Snapdragon 600 and 800 chipsets is a question but certainly it’ll be a step up from the 1.6GHz quad-core Exynos found on the Note 2.

To debut their new killer processor tech in a ‘lite’ model device would be an odd move for Samsung but certainly stranger things have been seen in this industry.

Galaxy Note 3 Neo is a slimmer device than the Note 2 to boot and Samsung is bringing over its slick new faux leather back cover from the Galaxy Note 3 is the good news. All of the Smart features from the S4 and Note 3, including Advanced Multi Window and Air Command are also included.

MWC 2014 next month announce date sounds to be right as we’ve been hearing talk of a new 720p Note variant for quite some time now.
