Samsung is going to launch its most awaited handsets of 2017, which are Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus. Most of the details about these handsets have been leaked and the official launch of these handsets will be conducted at Lincoln Center in New York City.

Design & Display

The two variants of the handset, Galaxy S8 have been launched and the first one is regular Samsung Galaxy S8 with the feature of edge display and it has the screen size of 5.8 inch, which is over than we watch on Galaxy Note series.

The other handset, Galaxy S8+ is provided in the market in 6.2 inch and it displays the feature of resolution of 1440 x 2960 pixels and it is about 570 pixels per inch for the handset Galaxy S8 and 529 pixels per inch for Galaxy S8+. The handsets are said to have Infinity Display to set the new standard in the industry and it offers the expanded screen size without provision of bigger footprint. Galaxy S8 and S8+ are featured with best designs in the industry and it is considered the best handset of the company. The handsets have edge to edge Infinity Display and it melts over frame of phone and you cannot tell from where the screen ends and frame of the phone starts. On the top front, there are usual sensor placements with front camera and IRIS scanner. The front side of the handset has the display and Samsung has taken the massive step to remove the iconic home button. Multitasking keys have been replaced and they can get the pressure sensitive home button and software keys.

This smart phone is added with haptic feedback and it gives you satisfaction of real button, when you press it.

Home button was removed from front of the handset and fingerprint scanner needed to find new place next to the camera present on the back side of the handset. The replacement of button is usual and power button on the left side and volume keys are used to activate the new assistant of Samsung , Bixby, which is more on that later. On the bottom of the device, you will find USB Type-C port, loud speaker and 3.5 mm headphone jack.

Camera

The handset has the front camera in Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ and there is slight improvement in it. On the front side, there is 8 MP camera with the provision of F 1.7 lens and it is also featured with auto focus. The back of the handset, Galaxy S8and Galaxy S8+ are remained same as the 12 MP camera with F 1.7 lens of last year. There is little bit improvement in image processing area and camera software takes the multiple shots and it is combined into one high quality photo and they look brighter and have sharper images. The camera of the handset is integrated with Bixby vision to use it for scan and return the information.

The smart phones, Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ set the new standard in the smart phone industry to give the performance. It is features of the handset has first 10 nm processor in the smart phone, Galaxy S8 & S8+ and it gives 10% better performance and GPU which is 21% more capability and the power consumption to reduce it by 20% compared to the past model.

You can also do the day to day multitasking and launching of apps and there is everything, which will be faster than before and it helps in decreasing the power consumption. The handsets, Galaxy S8 and S8+ will be provided in 2 variants, which are featured with Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor or Exynos Series 8895 chip and it also depends on the region.

The handset, Samsung Galaxy S8 is provided with 4GB RAM, which is same as of the Galaxy S7 and it is expected that there would be 6GB variant of Samsung Galaxy s8 & S8 plus but it was contained to 4 GB only.

The handset, Galaxy S8 has the 64 GB internal storage capacity and it can be further expanded through the addition of microSD card.

Bixby

Now Samsung has declared the newest virtual assistant, Bixby and it is rivals to Siri of Apple and it is Google’s assistant. Bixby is the AI system to make their life very easy. They need to carry out research work on web and answer the questions but they try to help you to use their phone. When they introduce Bixby with Galaxy S8 & S8+, Samsung will be able to perform different tasks with the use of talk with phone and they do not need to touch it.

Battery, Connectivity & Security

The smart phone, Samsung Galaxy S8 is powered by 3000 mAh battery and the handset, Galaxy S8+ is powered by 3500 mAh battery to give more capacity. It is added with normal USB Type-C and the handsets, Galaxy S8 and S8+ are featured with Type-C charging port. The handset, Galaxy S8 and S8+ are featured with regular connectivity solutions including Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi direct, NFC and Bluetooth and this time, the flagships are supported with 1024-QAM and Cat 16 LTE and the users will be able to get faster downloads and network speeds, which is 20% more than Galaxy S7.

The IRIS scanner return on Galaxy S8 and S8+ and it is complemented with new face recognition feature to unlock the phones at the fast speeds.

Availability & Pricing

Samsung has started the pre-orders for Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+from 30 March and these handsets are provided in US only.

The prices of the handsets will be set by their carried and Samsung Galaxy is provided at £689 (PKR 89,566) and the S8+ at £779 (PKR 101,282) and both the smart phones will be provided in the market for sale on 21 April.
