Samsung will be launching its latest smartphones flagship, the Galaxy S5 by April, as confirmed by a VP at Samsung. On company’s future plans about the Galaxy S5 flagship, the executive V.P of mobile business at Samsung, Lee Young Hee, has shed some light.
For the official announcement and the release date for the Galaxy S5, Samsung is once again targeting March and April respectively, just like its Galaxy S4 predecessor. This means that on the upcoming MWC in Barcelona next month, the manufacturer won’t be bringing any flagship phones.
Samsung is considering a fingerprint sensor and an iris scanner option, since the Galaxy S5 is going against Apple’s latest iPhone 5s and it should be prepared for the upcoming iPhone 6, in the meantime. Thus it will go way ahead of it instead of only catch up with the competition. There is no guarantee that iris recognition technology will make it to the Galaxy S5 in time for release as the company is exploring its options, according to Mrs. Hee.
One of the Galaxy S5 key features’ is going to be a brand new design. Samsung has gone back to the basics and created its new flagship from scratch as the company has acknowledged that with the Galaxy S4 reused design, the users weren’t impressed at all.
Meanwhile there is also a gossip that for the Galaxy Note 3 successor, Samsung is working on a three-sided display. On the sides of your phone, the innovative screen will let you see various notifications. If we actually see it implemented in the next flagship phablet then it won’t be a surprise as Samsung has already demonstrated similar technology before. The higher cost of the phablet is the downside of this new technology. Mrs. Hee confirmed that they’re targeting those consumers who’re willing to pay more for the handset and want more professional use.
