It has been reported by a Korean newspaper that Samsung is going to launch the latest technology handset, galaxy S6 in the market. This handset will be provided to the customers with the addition of next gen NAND flash storage. This memory storage is known as Universal Flash Storage and abbreviated as UFS 2.0.

UFS can be prepared at the affordable rates as eMMC memory chips are provided to the customers. When this handset is added with eMMC, then the transfer speed of the handset reached to 1.2 GB and the power consumption is less than eMMC storage, which avoids the drainage of battery and overheating the handset. In the handset, the recent technology in UFS 2.0 has been developed and it leads to the consumption of power half of eMMC 5.0.

This standard was developed by the Joint Electron Device Engineering Council and the initiatives have been taken by the mobile phone companies like Nokia, Samsung and Micron. SK Hynix and Toshiba have also shared the involvement in the development of the UFS 2.0 memory. Samsung will start excessive production of the NAND flash storage in the future.

A Chinese mobile company, Xiaomi is also going to introduce the handsets, which will be provided with UFS 2.0 NAND memory and this company is behind at the third place after Samsung and Apple to use this latest technology. Samsung is also going to replace the SD and microSD cards and use the UFS tech in the handset, which is introduced in the handset, Galaxy S6.

The sources have also said that this latest technology of UFS is being used as an important element for the device and it will be important for the mobile phone business in the next year. This application will be implemented in the flagship handsets. The sources refused to disclose further information as this handset would be provided in the market during the next year. It is to be finalized to settle the specifications of the handset.
