On NTT Docomo network in Japan, Sony has launched the new Xperia Z1F. The Z1F is a variant of Xperia Z1 – company’s current flagship – and brings its many features in a more compact design.
The two phones are mainly differentiated by the display. Where Z1F has a 4.3 inch, 1280×720 resolution LCD, while Z1 has a 5 inch, 1920×1080 resolution LCD. That makes the phone much more usable with a single hand and so compact.
Internally, the lot of hardware that went inside the bigger Z1 but Z1F doesn’t skimp on that. There is 16GB internal memory with microSD card slot, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 SoC with 2.2GHz quad-core CPU and Adreno 330 GPU, and 2GB of RAM. Like Z1, it also has 20.7 mp EXMOR sensor on the back. Z1F is waterproof and uses aluminum and glass for the body. The device is powered by the battery of 2300mAh.
The device so far is only available in Japan and nothing is said about international availability. Hopefully, this device will be released in other markets by Sony as well because this is the first proper compact Android smartphone with high-end specifications to be released, which lot of people want.
