Telenor Issuing 4G SIMs to Employees Soon

Telenor Pakistan is going to issue 4G SIMs to the employees, who are working with different sources at Telenor.

It shows that Telenor is going to introduce 4G services in the country very soon and the internal test for the employees are going to be held before launching of the services for the customer trial.

Telenor will provide compatible SIM and it will also provide 4G services. The present customers of Telenor will have to upgrade their SIM or they can get SIMs so that they can enjoy 4G services to the clients.

Telenor should get additional spectrum last month and it has also confirmed that it has the plan to launch 4G services in Pakistan. It is said that Telenor did not announce the date on which 4G services will be launched but the sources said that Telenor will start offers to its clients for the provision of 4G network in Q4 of 2016. After the internal and customer trial of the 4G services, the services will be launched commercially.

 

 

The Director of Corporate Communications, Telenor Pakistan, Areej Khan responded on the question about the estimated timeline of launch of the 4G services, she told that she is not in position to give comments on the date for the launch of 4G services, as it is subjected to taking approvals. She further added that after making concrete plans and visibility of the launch date, she will communicate it to their clients.

Zong and Warid Telecom are already operating 4G services in Pakistan and now Telenor is joining them in introducing 4G services, while Warid is new part of Mobilink.

There are 38 million customers of Telenor in Pakistan and it is providing 2G and 3G services across Pakistan.
