The time has come for the end of popular video sharing app “Vine” as its parent company ‘Twitter’ has just announced that it is planning to close the Vine app in few months. But the platform of Vine will remain intact even after the end of Vine and ‘Vines’ will remain present on the website of Twitter.

According to twitter, they give importance to your vines and you can easily download and access your vines. They consider all the vines very important due to which they will keep alive this website for the existing vines.

Vine’s Acquisition

The micro video-sharing platform was acquired by Twitter for $30 million in 2012 and it immediately achieved popularity with its video clips of 6 seconds. But it became difficult for it to survive due to tough competition from Snapchat and Instagram. In December 2015, Vine had 200 million active users but now they have dropped to around 10 million.

Twitter not Doing so Well

For some time, Twitter is feeling problems. According to their latest earning of Q3, they are doing well as compared to the expectations but the company is going to lay off 350 people from its workforce (9% of total) which shows the problem.

There were rumors about the sale of Twitter several times before. Now it’s clear that it is difficult for a company to keep its services alive while it is itself struggling with living.
