WhatsApp to might stop working on your smartphone after Dec 30

If you are using old phone then you either have to upgrade it or purchase a new one if you want to us the world’s most favorite messaging app.

Millions of smartphones with outdated OS will not be supported by WhatsApp after the end of 2016. After December 30, the app will end its supports for devices running on Windows Phone 7, Android 2.1, Android 2.2 and iPhone 3GS.

The popular messaging service is introducing updates for more security and functionality as it is serving since last 7 years. But these updates can’t be supported by older cellphones with outdated OS and hardware.

WhatsApp told in February 2016 that till the end of 2016, the support for iPhone 3GS, Windows Phone 7, Android (2.1 & 2.2), Nokia Symbian S60, Nokia S40, BlackBerry 10 and BlackBerry OS will be ended and it informed the customers through a blog that the users of such smartphones should upgrade to newer versions of iPhone, Windows Phone or Android before start of next year in order to continue using WhatsApp.

But the Facebook owned app later extended its support till June 2017 for Nokia Symbian S60, Nokia S40, BlackBerry 10 and BlackBerry OS.
