The summer Olympic games will be held in Tokyo in 2020 and it is the same year when japan wil host robot Olympics.

It means both humans and robots will be having competition in 2020 in Japan as the “World Robot Summit” will also be hosted by Japan the same year 2020.

According to a government official, lots of machines will be present during the competition including humanoid and industrial robots while competitions and exhibitions will be features during this event managed by trade ministry of Japan.

The ministry is inviting bids from cities famous for robot technology while the exact date and location for the event is not decided yet.

A talking robot was recently sent by Japan in space in order to test its function as companion for isolated people while it will talk with Japanese astronaut Koichi Wakata.

There is shortage of laborers in Japan due to increase elderly population and the country is trying to overcome this situation with the use of robots as farmers and kitchen workers.

For this upcoming 2020 summit, the Japanese government is expecting to see the arrival of high tech robots from around the world. The 2020 Summer Olympics will be held in Tokyo in July while the Paralympics will soon follow them.

Currently, lots of robots are also shown in Japan as the Asia’s biggest tech fair, “The Cutting-Edge IT & Electronics Comprehensive Exhibition (CEATEC)”, is currently underway in Tokyo.
