World’s Cheapest Smartphone Launches in India for $4

Most of us would expect a very ordinary phone for $4 but it seems things are changing in India very rapidly. After the introduction of world’s cheapest tablet and car, now the cheapest smartphone of the world, Freedom 251, is also available in the country for just $4.
It is difficult to find reason for such a cheap smartphone but the visible features makes it really handy. With the 960 x 450 resolution, it is having a 4” display along with the presence of Android 5.1 lollipop OS. Under the hood, you will get 8 GB storage, 1.3 GHz quad-core processor and 1 GB of RAM.
Apart from these, there is an unbelievable 3.2 MP main camera at the back along with the 0.3 MP front camera. 1450 mAh is the capacity of the battery. The owner company of this cheap smartphone has a history of cheap smartphones as $30 is the price of the company’s another smartphone with 4G connection.
Realistically, no company can offer a smartphone on that price but it seems that it is the subsidy of government that is making this thing possible. The reason for this move could be to favor the ‘make in India’ slogan. The sales of this cheap smartphone has started that will give details about the performance of this phone soon.
It should also be remembered that in 2011, the Indian govt. launched the Akash tablet for students for just $40. This low price will make it possible for even the people of most deprived areas to purchase the smartphones.
