Google Fiber was announced in 2010 and now it is getting popular. it is the US specific service and it provides high speed internet at the reasonable rates and it is also better than rest of the competition. It is looking too ambitious for Google.

During the last several years, Google worked with several communities to build the fiber optic infrastructures to deliver up to 1000 Mbps of speed. Now the users can stream videos instantly and they can also download entire movies with the fraction of seconds.

Now Google has realized that citywide fiber networks are becoming expensive and time taking. The company believes that it has one solution to provide the services wirelessly.

Craig Barratt is the senior vice president at Alphabet and looks for oversees Google fiber and other projects, spoke in an interview and told about the plan while giving interview.

He did not mention the timeline but he said that they wanted to provide wireless internet to homes where they thought financial sense would not be made to build fiber. The wireless internet has many advantages and it allows you to reach to those homes, which located in area, where building fiber is very expensive.

The CEO of Alphabet, Eric Schmidt said that they hope that this technology could help them in delivering internet access abundantly.

Google has conducted the test of the wireless technology in Kansas City and this was the first city where Google Fiber was introduced.

Barratt has given the emphasis that the plans were made around the fixed wireless internet but they are provided on the mobile. The rollout will become huge than the current wired network because of the provision of Google Fiber in only six cities.

That is the average of one city per year and through the shifting of wireless, Google Fiber wishes to speed up the roll out of internet services and the users can save their money in this way.

Global Rollout?

Google Fiber is providing in USA currently but going to wireless, the Google Fiber might be started to some other markets. Google Fiber is the most popular broadband provider in USA and it is well at the area, where it is made available.

Google is making the attempts to make wireless successful and it may be new way to provide internet access to all localities. Google Fiber has proved it and wired media needs huge money, infrastructural setup and effort. This is the only feasible way to keep the cost of the internet low and it covers more areas.

It is true for the emerging markets that most of the people have to face various issues with the wide range of services, which are available to the service providers and the competition is also slow to expand their services and the limitation and cost is associated with the wired roll out.
