Next year, Google is ready to launch two new smartwatches. Both these watches will run Android Wear 2.0 and both will be its flagship devices. Android Wear is a smartwatch OS by Google which is linked with Android and few apps on your phone can be used on your smartphone with this feature.

The two smartwatches and the new version of Android Wear 2.0 are announced by Google just recently. But they told that details about the watches will be given during Consumer Electronics Show 2017. The new announcements about these smartwatches will be given at Base1world trade show.

Instead of Google or Pixel branding, the feature of the manufacturer’s branding will be displayed on these new smartwatches while name of the manufacturer is not known yet. In order to attract more manufacturers towards Android Wear 2.0, they wants to launch new smartwatches.

Android Wear 2.0 Features and Release Date

As compared to existing Android Wear, the Android Wear 2.0 has several upgrades. Instead fo using phone for heavy lifting, it will run apps on the smartphone itself. Google Assistant AI and Android Pay will also be supported by it.

After dropping of the update, the current Android Wear smartwatches can be upgraded to Android Wear 2.0. Google promised that most of the recent devices will be able to upgrade.

After the update, few watches will lose Android Pay feature because it requires NFC which is not available in every Android smartwatch.

Though, Android Wear 2.0 will also be available on iOS but its functionality will be different from Android. This new smartwatch OS will be available in January next year after final preview by the developer.
