It’s good to see HP incorporating the technology in its machines, though motion-controlled laptops are an unpopular idea as of now. With this technology, HP Envy 17 is in fact, just a regular Envy 17 laptop.

Hp Envy 17 comes with AMD Radeon HD 7750M/7850M Graphics, an Intel Core i5/i7 processor, 750 HDD storage and 6 GB RAM. It also comes with a 17 inch touchscreen display and Full HD resolution.

Leap motion helps you to navigate through various apps and software by just moving your hands – is not a very new technology.

To track the movement of any object, the small sensor, mounted above the keyboard, uses three infrared LED’s and two cameras. To scroll the images or to forward a movie, you can simply move your hands. Instead of a controller, play games just by gestures.

The system is accurate enough to track fingers and users can even hold a pencil. In Hp Envy 17, the leap motion can toggled on/off and when turned on, by using gestures you can use your swipe or game through Windows 8.

Making full use of the technology, there are currently around 100 applications. When it launches in mid-October, HP Envy 17 will start at $1,049.
