Infinix Hot 5
From the last year or so many entry mobiles has been launched in Pakistan. Despite the competition, infinix always tries to be different from the crowd by providing so many new features with low price and towards that the next step is Infinix hot 5.
Design and Display
The infinix hot 5 front is made up of plastic and the distinguishing feature being the textured back, which helps in gripping and handling the phone.
The smart phone is light in weight, maybe lighter than it should be as it doesn’t have any weight when you hold it in your hand.

On the front of the mobile there is 5.5 inch screen along with a front camera, an LED flash and a loud speaker.
You will also find the dual front facing speaker grilles up front flanking the screen on both sides.
On the top of the phone there is 3.5mm ear phone jack and at the bottom there is a micro USB port for charging/ data syncing.

On the right side there is a power button and the volume up and down button.
The finger print sensor is located at the center of the phone making it easy to access.
The back cover of the phone can be removed but the battery can’t be moved.
Removing the back cover will give you access to the dual sim port and the memory card slot.
Moving to the display it’s a good one with 5.5 inch IPS panel. At this price, the 720×1280 is what you would expect from smart phones of the same range.
It also gives good color production, good contrast and decent view angles.
Negativity is the brightness that it becomes difficult to view the display in direct sunlight, but it’s a complaint common in all the entry smart phones.
Performance
As the phone is a midrange mobile so you shouldn’t expect performance from hot 5, that doesn’t mean that the phone performance isn’t good.
The processing power of hot 5 comes courtesy of mediate 6580 quad core chipset clocked at 1.3 GHz. Along with the 2 GB RAM.
The real world performance is good considering the chipset. The hot 5 performed well. For a normal user it is than good and you won’t face any problem navigating through the UI and applications.

The launch time for 3rd party is respectable. As a overall result hot 5 won’t be a disappointment as it runs fine from day to day tasks.
Camera
The rear camera is off 8MP along with LED flash. The front camera is off 5MP and it also has a LED flash.
The camera application is very simple and the interface is so easy for the first time user. There is a shutter button on the bottom along with the option for the video mode and gallery.

On the top there are just toggles for front/ream camera and the LED flash. Swipe to the left and you will find the HDR mode and many other settings and swipe to the right for different capturing modes like professionals, normal, beauty etc.
Discussing about the result the pictures were good. In day light the pictures had enough detail and the colors were bright and the pictures weren’t saturated overly.
In low light the pictures weren’t that much good, as is the case with the phones of same price range.
Battery and Miscellaneous
The hot 5 has a battery of 4000 mAh. Combined with a low res screen and not so powerful processor and you will get excellent battery timing.
A light user will get even better battery life.
The thing I liked about the infinix hot 5 is its speakers. The company calls the hot 5 the mobile cinema, while the claim falls short considering its resolution, the front facing dual speakers are just amazing. The quality surpasses some flagships I’ve used and for sure on the top in the list of the budget phones.
They are loud and there is no distortion at high volume and they are also stereo.
Verdict
Infinix had done a great job with the hot 5 as you don’t have to see that the phone is a budget phone.

As for the price hot 5 exceeded my expectations. The build quality is a bit tacky, I liked the back texture. Display is good, day to day performance is satisfactory, camera is also decent.
The price of hot 5 is RS 13,499.
