Over 20 Million sales of Samsung S8

Recently, Samsung became the world’s largest chip maker after leaving behind Intel in this department. Samsung’s latest flagship, the Galaxy S8, was one of the primary reasons that the company won the battle against Intel in terms of revenue. Strategy Analytics say that 20 million units of shipments have been achieved by the company and it happened last month.

By considering the above mentioned amount of sales, we can safely say that the brand shipped 278,000 phones every day on average. Samsung hasn’t officially revealed the number of Galaxy S8 smartphones that it sold during this period but it was mentioned that the number increased by 15% as compared to its predecessor S7 while the sale of S8 in last year has doubled in few markets.

The news was the result of several rumors in which it was told that large number of phones were sold but it could not be proved true. A higher average selling price was seen by the company in the last period after 2013 due to higher price of $235 of this flagship device.

During the 2nd quarter of 2017, the company sold 79 million smartphones through which it retained the position of world’s leading manufacturer as these numbers are 38 million above then that of Apple and Huawei.

The Galaxy S8 played an important role in the increase of sales of Samsung devices while the company is close to release M8 that will be its second important flagship of the year.
