Samsung Decides To Launch Galaxy S21 And Will Ditch The TOF Sensor of Camera

The world’s largest Smart phone maker Samsung is about to gear up with one of the most important releases of the year on January 14, 2021. As it has been already revealed that the Korean tech company is all set to launch its flagship device Galaxy S21 with a  flat display with 2k resolution and 144 Hz refresh rate. Now a recent leak reveals that the company is launching smart phone will flaunt a quad- sensor camera setup but will ditch the ToF sensor. According to a renowned tipster, Ice Universe the Galaxy S21 Ultra would come with an ISOCELL HM3 sensor (108 MP), which will have a pixel size of 0.8µm, and the setup will have a laser focus module. However, there will be no ToF sensor.

For the knowledge of customer who are not aware with what is ToF sensor is? The ToF sensor helps with depth details/bokeh when taking portrait photos or recording live focus videos. The Samsung Galaxy S20 launched earlier this year came with a 0.3 MP ToF sensor with an f/1.0 aperture.

According to experts if Samsung is removing the ToF sensor, it has come up with another way of capturing the depth of field details.Other leaks and rumors suggest that asides 108 MP primary camera, there will also be an ultrawide angle camera and a periscope telephoto camera. The fourth sensor might be another telephoto lens, as well.
