In July, leaked CAD-based renders of the OnePlus 12 hinted at a smartphone with a centrally placed punch-hole display and a circular camera module housing three cameras at the rear. However, the latest renders, originating from the same source, OnLeaks, introduce a notable change to the camera module’s design.
The updated design now features four circular elements within the camera island, diverging from the previous three-camera arrangement. Furthermore, the positioning of the Hasselblad logo has shifted from its former location between the camera rows to the left side of the camera setup.
While these changes stand out, all other aspects of the device remain consistent. OnLeaks has clarified that these new renders are based on images of a pre-production unit of the OnePlus 12.
OnePlus has yet to officially disclose specific details about the OnePlus 12. Nonetheless, speculations indicate that the smartphone is expected to debut in China in December, followed by a global release in January 2024. It is anticipated to be powered by the as-yet-unannounced Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, offering up to 24 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage, and running on Android 14-based OxygenOS 14.
The device will sport a 6.7-inch 120Hz 2K LTPO AMOLED display with an under-display fingerprint scanner for biometric authentication and a punch-hole cutout housing a 32MP selfie camera. On the rear, the camera system will include a 50MP primary camera, a 50MP ultrawide camera, and a 64MP periscope camera featuring 3x optical zoom.
To ensure lasting performance, the smartphone will be equipped with a 5,400 mAh battery supporting 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
