According to analyst Ming-Chu Kuo, around 35-40% of orders for the upcoming iPhone 15 series will likely be for the iPhone 15 Pro Max model. Kuo predicts that the 15 Pro Max could outperform the sales of its predecessor, the iPhone 14 Pro Max, by 10-20%.

Kuo’s analysis highlights that the standout feature contributing to the popularity of the iPhone 15 Pro Max will be its exclusive periscope zoom camera. Moreover, he forecasts that the next iteration, the iPhone 16 Pro, will also feature a periscope camera, which is expected to significantly boost its sales.

Interestingly, Largan, a company known for producing periscope lenses, has reportedly secured an exclusive deal to supply periscope modules for the iPhone 15 Pro Max. Remarkably, Largan is the same supplier responsible for more than 60% of periscope lenses used by Huawei. Huawei has notably embraced periscope cameras, shipping an estimated 15-20 million units this year and projecting to ship around 30 million units next year.

This development appears to be advantageous for Largan as the cost of a periscope lens is reportedly 3 to 4 times higher than that of a typical high-end 7P lens.
