Last month, Huawei introduced its first 5nm SoC, the Kirin 9000, for the flagship Huawei Mate 40 series. However, due to shortages of chip supplies due to the US ban, the company only produced a limited number of Mate 40 units.

The company has decided to store the chips for P50 and Mate 50 flagships. Despite the lack of chips, research and development on the Huawei P50 and Mate 50 series continues smoothly.

No more details are yet known about the P50 series but it is said that the series will come with phones equipped with Kirin 9000 and 9000e. The base variant will feature a 90Hz refresh rate, while the Pro variant will have a display of 120Hz.

Huawei’s flagship P50 lineup is expected to come with same camera setup to the Mate 40, but with better zoom capabilities with Leica lens in its flagship mobiles. The base model will have a 66 W wired charge and a 50 W wireless charge, while the Pro model will have an ultra-fast charge of 135 W.

The Huawei P50 series is expected to break cover this year in March.
