Nokia 5

In 2017, Nokia launched three mid range devices for the users. Middle of the 3 phones was Nokia 5 as considered by its specifications and price. Recently, it was launched in Pakistan and you can know about the review of this mid range device here below.

Design & Display

Nokia 5 has a good build quality despite being a budget device. The phone looks and feel premium as it is a metal unibody. You can easily grip the phone as the corners are rounded. On the front, you will get earpiece is on the top of display where you will also get sensors and front facing camera. On the bottom of display, there are keys of recent apps, back and home.

At the back, you will get Nokia branding, primary camera and dual tone LED flash. There are SIM slots on the left side while power button and volume rocker are on the right side.

Top of the phone houses 3.5 mm earphone jack while microUSB port for charging/data syncing and speaker grille are located at the bottom of the device.

Display on Nokia 5 is 5.2” with 720 x 1280 resolution panel. It is a decent display with IPS panel along good color reproduction and viewing angles.

Software & Performance

The Nokia 5 has 2 GB of RAM and Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 chipset that makes the phone performs best. It also has a smooth UI. Some higher games can make the phone slow but that doesn’t happen on other occasions and even the Facebook behaves well in Nokia 5.

The 2 GB RAM also performs well as the phone will work smoothly even if there are 10 apps in the background. But quite heavy applications can create some problem.

Perhaps, its best software makes the device performs so well. The OS running in the device is Android nougat out of the box while it will get the upcoming Android Oreo update. Nokia phones are famous for getting fast updates and it happens in the Nokia 5 also.

Camera & Battery

As compared to 8 MP camera of Nokia 3, the Nokia 5 has a better 13 MP main camera. Features of this camera are phase detection autofocus & dual tone LED flash.

The camera performs very well. You will get sharp and detailed pictures in good light conditions without oversaturation of colors.

But there are few small issues including noise in few photos and it becomes worse if you take pictures in dim lit conditions. Another nuisance is the slowness of HDR mode as it takes 3 to 4 seconds to take a picture.

There is an 8 MP camera with f/2.0 aperture at the front. But this camera produces soft photos even in good lightning.

The Nokia 5 has 3,000 mAh battery which is quite decent with this screen size. Even if you use quite heavily, you will get some battery left at the end of the day.

Verdict

We can easily say that good performance, nice camera, superb battery life and regular software updates in this price range makes Nokia 5 the best device to purchase.
