When you compare the two biggest app stores, iOS App Store is accounted for $25.5 billion of the total spending on the apps, which is 45% higher than what Google Play has earned total $14.2 billion.

Google Play Store has gained 19.6% more revenue, when you compare it with the first half of 2018 starting from $11.8 billion to $14.2 billion. The total revenue of iOS App Store has increased by 13.2% from $22.6 billion to $25.5 billion.

Game Revenue

There are different mobile games, which are the prime source of the revenue for app stores and it has total spending increase by 11.6 percent in this category during the first half of 2019 and it has reached to $29.9 billion for both stores. The growth on the Apple side has been slower because of the downturn in consumer spending in iOS in China. The App Store has recorded the 7.8 percent growth and the spending of the Google Play has been increased by 16.8 percent.

The users have spent the amount of $497 million on Tinder, which is the non-gaming apps with the year-on-year growth of 32% and after that Netflix, which has earned the amount of $399 million.

The most downloaded applications fall under Umbrella of Facebook with Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp.

The Honor of Kings continue to remain on top and it brought more than $728 million and after that Fate/Grand Order Sony Aniplex that grossed $628 million. After that there is Monster Strike by Mixi and it has earned the revenue of $566 million with Candy crush Saga and PUBG come at 4th and 5th place respectively in earning the revenues.
