So far, windows 8 (and RT) tablets have rather been a failed alternative to the iPad. Coupled with the manufacturer’s resistance to spend more on projects with fewer profit margins, the previous generation has been holding the tablets back but tablets might have finally started to turn.
ASUS newest response in the Transformer Book T100 has an Intel Atom Z3740 Bay Trail processor under the hood and is a 10 inch tablet with 1366 x 768 resolution. The hybrid also comes with 2 GB RAM and Intel HD Graphics.
MicroHDMI, microUSB, USB 3.0 and Bluetooth are for connectivity.
Office 2013 pre-installed right from the get go and it comes with full Windows 8, on the software side.
The Transformer has been priced really attractively as compared to the $499 iPad. Starting at just $399 for the 64 GB versionand $349 for the base 32 GB model, and without spending a penny more, it also comes with a keyboard dock.
Into a full-fledge PC, that transforms it, which can run loads of Windows software. The Bay Trail platform is twice as faster as the Clover Trail which will help you to play few games on it.
Later in October this year, it will be made available.
