Dell has unveiled its flagship XPS 15 laptop successor and has made it powerful than before, yet sleeker.
With a 15 inch touch-enabled display with resolution of 3200×1800 pixels, the new XPS 15 comes and under the hood there is 4th-generation Intel Haswell processor. Still, the entire package is 18mm thin and weighs in at just 4.4 pounds.
The ultrabook’s display comes with IGZO (Indium Galium Zinc Oxide) Technology, which gives a sharper image and saves power. On the hardware side, it has 16GB RAM, a quad-core 2.2 GHz Intel core i7 Haswell processor, Nvidia,s GeForce GT 750m GPU and 512 GB SSD storage option.
The laptop comes with pre-installed latest Windows 8.1. The hardware bit is made of magnesium alloys and carbon fiber. Connectivity options include 1 USB 2.0 port, 3 USB 2.0 port, a full SD card slot, HDMI and Mini Display port.
Thanks to the new display and processor tech, battery life is quoted at 13 hours.
But the bad thing is that it will cost $1499 and that’s for the starting model which won’t have this display and would come with integrated graphics and a Core i5 processor.
Comparatively, the Macbook Air is priced closely but lacks several goodies of this ultrabook.
