The ex sub brand of Huawei, the Honor finally launched its first flagship series of smartphones dubeed the Honor 50 series. The series consists of three models including the Honor 50, the Honor 50 Pro and the Honor 50 Special Edition SE. These phones also come with a support of GMS services.
Design and Display
The base variant, Honor 50 has a display size of a 6.57-inch AMOLED display, FHD+ resolution; 120Hz refresh rate, and 10-bit colors. It is smaller in display as compared to other variants in the series. The phone has a punch hole for selfei camera. The touch sampling rate of the handset is 300Hz.
On the other side, the Honor 50 Pro is comparatively bigger than the base model of the series. It comes with 6.72 inch panel. The remaining display specifications of the Pro models are similar to base version. This phone is featured with a dual selfei camera while the Honor 50 has single one.
Internals and storage
The Honor 50 series smartphones are equipped with Snapdragon 778 chipset and the performance of this chipset is equal to SD 780 in these handsets. As for the internal storage and memory, the handsets come with 8 to 12GB RAM and 128GB to 256GB UFS 3.1. However, the memory card slot is not available to expand the internal storage. On the software front, handset is topped by Android 11with Magic UI 4.2. The Google app and services are also available.
Cameras
The Honor 50 and Honor 50 Pro come with a camera having same specifications. These are equipped with a huge lens of 108MP having 3 extra sensor. These sensors are a duo of 2MP cameras for macro and depth sensing. Thanks to honor, the phones are provided with vlog mode in their cameras for recording video from front and rear cameras simultaneously.
The Pro model has a dual selfie camera having one primary lens of 32MP and an ultrawide sensor of 12MP, whereas the base Honor 50 has a single 32MP unit.
Battery and Pricing
The Honor 50 model is powered by a bigger battery with a cell of 4,300mAh with a limited fast charging up to 66W. The Pro variant is equipped by a slightly smaller battery of 4,000mAh and has a fast charging up to 100W.
The price of Honor 50 and, the Honor 50 Pro are $422 and $578 respectively in china. These phones may come at different price tags globally.
Honor 50 SE
The main change in the flagship variant the Honor 50 SE is that it is equipped by a MediaTek Dimensity 900 chipset instead. The remaining specifications are equal to other two variants in the series. Smaller differences include an LCD panel instead of AMOLED and a 16MP selfie camera instead of 32MP. The Honor Pro SE will come at the price tag of $375 in China.
