Last week, Motorola gave us a sneak peek at its latest offering, the Moto G84, on Flipkart. Today, it officially launched this midrange smartphone in India, and it’s poised to make quite an impression, especially considering its price point.

At the forefront is a striking 6.55-inch 10-bit OLED display, boasting a 120 Hz refresh rate and an impressive 240 Hz touch sampling rate. Motorola promises a peak brightness of 1,300 nits, ensuring vivid visuals. The single punch hole at the center houses a capable 16 MP selfie camera with an f/2.45 aperture.

Moving to the rear, you’ll notice a departure from the triple-camera setup found on the Moto G82. Instead, the Moto G84 opts for a dual-camera configuration. The primary camera boasts a 50 MP 1/1.5” sensor with a 1.0µm pixel size and an f/1.88 lens. It features Dual PDAF and OIS for sharp and stable shots. Alongside it, there’s an 8 MP ultra-wide-angle camera with a 118-degree field of view (FoV), though it lacks autofocus. Both cameras support 4K video at 30 fps and introduce Auto Night Vision for enhanced low-light photography.

Audio enthusiasts will appreciate the Moto G84′s Dolby Atmos support and Moto Spatial Sound, delivering an immersive experience through the stereo speakers.

On the software front, the Motorola Moto G84 runs on Android 13 out of the box, with Motorola committing to updates, including Android 14, and providing three years of security updates.

Powering this smartphone is a robust 5,000 mAh battery, which supports 30W fast charging. Motorola generously includes the adapter in the retail package. Other notable features include Bluetooth 5.1, Wi-Fi 6, NFC, a 3.5 mm audio jack, and a dual SIM slot for accommodating two nano cards.

Motorola’s collaboration with Pantone continues to bear fruit, as the Moto G84 debuts in a stunning Viva Magenta color option, featuring a faux leather panel. Alternatively, there’s the eye-catching Marshmallow Blue variant, also adorned with vegan leather (albeit, in the form of a fancy PVC coating). For those favoring a more understated look, the Midnight Blue variant is available.

Memory-wise, the Moto G84 offers a single option with 12 GB of RAM and a spacious 256 GB of internal storage. It’s competitively priced at INR 19,999 ($245/€222) and will be available for purchase starting September 8 on Flipkart.

Motorola has once again demonstrated its commitment to delivering impressive midrange smartphones that balance performance, style, and affordability, and the Motorola Moto G84 is a testament to this ethos.
