Within the next couple of months, a couple of former flagships will get updated to the latest version of Android 4.2.2 KitKat, according to a Samsung insider. By the end of March this year, namely the Galaxy S3 and Note 2 should get the update.
Both devices will be updated in late Q1 of this year, just after the expected Galaxy S4 KitKat rollout, as claimed by a Samsung software engineer with knowledge on the subject. The update will include few new software features along with performance tweaks and updates.
The immersive full-screen mode, transparent status bar and new print features from settings will be included.
In phases, the KitKat update for the Note 2 and S3 will be outed which means that s much as full month later, carrier branded variants will likely receive the update.
