Recently, two popular Android smartphones have been brought to the OS 4.4 Kitkat’s latest version. The official KitKat update has been launched by Sony for the phablet Xperia Z Ultra.
In Hong Kong, the first device to get it is the C6833 LTE apparently. We expect Sony to launch the new firmware soon via its PC companion, but it is available only over the air for now. The other markets will soon enough join Hong Kong, we also hope.
The Android 4.4 KitKat update has also begun seeding for the Butterfly S by HTC. It seems HTC has already been working hard on the KitKat firmware but in January, the smartphone received Android 4.3 Jelly Bean with Sense UI 5.5.
On your Butterfly S, the KitKat update will bring new Bluetooth profiles, Security enhancements, Cloud Print Service and the latest Android OS but in the default web browser, it will remove the support for Adobe Flash. Over the air, the new firmware is available and about 740MB is its weight.
