According to a recent report, released by 9to5Google, the search engine giant, Google is planning to manufacture its own chipset for its smartphones in partnership with Samsung. The report reveals that, the company will launch its next phone Pixel 6 this year with its own chipset. The more details about the chipset are not yet revealed. However, the Google Pixel 6 and future Chromebooks will be powered by Google SoC.
The google’s chipset is expected to break covers under the codename “Whitechapel”. As mentioned above, Google will produce the chipset in collaboration with Samsung which indicates that design, architecture and some software parts of the Google chipset will be more likely similar to the Samsung’s Exynos SoCs.
The tech giant is expected to launch two phones in the Pixel 6 series dubbed Google Pixel 6 base variant and the Google Pixel 6a. The pixel 6 will be a cheaper variant as compared to Google Pixel 6a. Later on, the company will release the top end variant called Google Pixel XL.
